Petals and Petals

Worked on my flower petals today, am pleased with the progress, am using all my dyed pink fabric, light and dark... it is really a nice feeling to use material you have made, satisfying even before you have finished the quilt process.

Gone

First time ever I am sending my quilt off to be machine quilted. WEll, other than my mom=) Am really looking forward to getting it back. I am so thrilled to have it done after 2 1/2 years of working on it off and on, between breaks with my children. This is my good days, bad days quilt.

Dyeing Again

I am overdyeing a black piece again, for the president's challenge. I seem to be coming back to flowers, I have 2 on my sketch pad at the moment to try. Both using different techniques. And using dyed fabric.

Embroidering stem stitch

I picked up my black quilt tonite, and realized that I wasn't finishing it because I didn't want to quilt it. So I decided that I would get someone to quilt it for me. That gave me the motivation to finish the embroidery work on it, and I am so excited to see it quilted. Is there nothing better than to touch fabric with your mind and hand?

Fun

Made fabric beads today, quite fun. Also dyed some velour and very pleased with results and did some work with angelina fibers. Finally getting creative and trying not to stop at boundaries.

Getting creative

I am finally getting my sketch pad out again. Our president's challenge was announced to us for our guild, make a quilt any size, with your fav. season, any type of applique, and picot edging. The edging made everyone groan=) But it doesn't bother me, probably cause I haven't done it yet. But this challenge has already given me 2 great designs I want to try , plus I have another one already done, and I am going to try a new quilt art method I found, using craft foam. So am very excited. I did some dyeing yesterday as well.
This quilt was done for the president's challenge last year, 'use something old' and the black and white veins are my grandmother's shirt and the brown center is Grandad's pants.

I made this purse for a guild challenge. I call her 'Esmerelda'. She was also featured in the CQA national publication.
A great workout this morning,

ran 2 miles, 200 pushups, 300 squats and 100 pullups, felt great. Got it done in an hour

end of summer in sight

This is my beach scene. The background was a panel and I cut it up to form an interesting scene. I saw one like it in BC at Dianne Janssen's store and decided to make one for my home.
